It's AI? Privacy Policy
Privacy policy and more
This Privacy Policy applies to It's AI? on Safari and
It's AI? for macOS. It explains what data is
processed on-device, when an image is sent to a third-party provider, what is
stored locally on your Mac, and what choices you control.
Effective Date: April 14, 2026
Platforms: macOS + Safari
Cloud upload only when you choose a cloud or hybrid engine
At a glance
On-device mode
If you use the bundled local detector without cloud recheck, image analysis runs
on your Mac with bundled Core ML models. The image is not uploaded to a third-party
detection provider in that mode.
Cloud and hybrid modes
If you choose Sightengine, Hive, AI or Not, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or a
hybrid mode that rechecks with one of them, the selected image may be transmitted
to that provider for analysis.
Local storage
API credentials are stored securely in Keychain on your Mac. The Safari extension
stores only the latest analysis result and the page state needed to show the latest
inline output. The apps are designed not to keep a local history of older analyses.
Products covered
It's AI? on Safari
A Safari extension that lets you analyze selected images from webpages and review
results directly inside Safari.
It's AI?
A macOS app that can run bundled local models on-device or call supported cloud
providers when you configure and enable them.
Who controls the upload choice
You choose whether to stay on-device or use a cloud-capable workflow. If you do
not want a selected image to leave your Mac, use local-only mode and avoid enabling
cloud or hybrid engines.
Policy details
1. Information processed when you use the apps
- Selected image data that you explicitly choose to analyze.
- Engine configuration and app settings, such as the provider you selected.
- API credentials you enter for supported cloud providers, stored in Keychain on your Mac.
- For the Safari extension, the most recent inline result state needed to show the latest output on a page.
2. When data is sent to third parties
A selected image is sent to a third-party provider only when you choose a cloud
engine or a hybrid workflow that uses cloud recheck. Supported providers may include
Sightengine, Hive, AI or Not, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini, depending on what you
configure. Their handling of uploaded content is governed by their own terms and
privacy practices, not this policy alone.
3. On-device analysis
The apps include local model workflows designed to run on your Mac. In local-only
mode, analysis is performed through bundled native code and bundled Core ML models.
This is the privacy-preserving option if you do not want to use a third-party API.
4. What is stored locally
- API credentials are stored securely in Keychain on your Mac.
- Non-sensitive settings may be stored locally so the app can remember your preferences.
- The Safari extension stores only the latest result and limited page state needed to render the latest inline output.
- The products are designed not to keep a local archive or history of older analysis results.
5. Tracking, advertising, and sale of data
The apps are not designed to sell your personal data or use advertising trackers
for behavioral advertising. If you choose a cloud provider, that provider may receive
the selected image as part of the analysis request you initiated.
6. Data retention
Credentials remain in Keychain until you remove them or delete the app data on your
Mac. Local result state is limited to the most recent output needed for app behavior.
If you send an image to a third-party provider, retention on that provider is subject
to the provider's own policies.
7. Your choices
- Use local-only mode if you do not want selected images uploaded.
- Do not add cloud provider credentials unless you want that provider available.
- Remove stored credentials from the app settings when you no longer want to use a provider.
- Review third-party provider terms before enabling cloud or hybrid workflows.
8. Children
These products are not directed to children under 13, and you should not upload
content you are not authorized to analyze or share.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when product behavior, supported providers,
storage design, or compliance requirements change. The effective date at the top of
this page will be updated when material changes are published.
Important limitation
Detection outputs are for reference only. They should not be treated as judicial,
copyright, platform-enforcement, academic-review, or compliance determinations.
Third-party responsibility
If you use a third-party provider, you are responsible for making sure your intended
use and uploaded content comply with that provider's rules and your own legal or
contractual obligations.
